History
Cleve Barham opened Fine Eyes, an eyewear boutique in Ridgeland, Mississippi,
in September 1995, and has steadily built a reputation for offering the latest
in sunglasses, frames with a flair and the finest lens available.
He launched his career in the optical industry in 1984 as a representative of
the Germany company Menrad. Calvin Klein hired Cleve ten years later as the
first representative to sell his eyewear in the Deep South.
Cleve discovered a niche for his business when he realized many boutique styles
of eyewear were not available in his home state of Mississippi.
A longtime wearer of prescription lens, Cleve believes everyone should like
their glasses, and eyewear should be not only functional but also fashionable.
He stays abreast of the most current styles in frames and keeps in mind those
who favor a slightly more traditional approach.
Cleve’s commitment to fine eyewear extends beyond fashion to clear vision. Fine
Eyes partners with Italee Optics, an innovator in the optical industry, to bring
clients lens from Varilux, Sharmir and Zeiss and anti-reflective coating by
Crizal Alize and Zeiss.
He expanded his business in 2004 by opening a second location, Fine Eyes Too! in
Brandon, one of Mississippi’s hottest retail markets. Fine Eyes Too offers the
same service and style as the original Fine Eyes.
